"Samurai"
Shiro Koshinaka
Chavo was the first foreign wrestler I wrestled with, and what is more,
the first match with him was my TV debut match, too !
At that time, he's just transfered his registration from "New Japan" to
our "All Japan" and needless to say he's still a Junior Heavyweight Champion.
As a rookie, I tried to hold out a bit more to the best of my ability, only in vain.
He was too much for me. Still, I had taken measures to face him
and made a decision to use "jumping hip attack", one of the forte of Chavo.
But, unfortunately, it didn't work well, only made the spectators burst out laughing
and drove Chavo's fighting spirit on. As a result, I was beaten up.
A stubborn kind of fellow was my impression of him.
Time went by ... and quite recently, a famous Japanese referee Tiger Hattori told me that
at the funeral service for Hawk Warrior, he was suddenly attacked by someone from behind.
Turning around, he found out the naughty child was Chavo and they had quite a good time
talking about old times. Mr. Hattori also told me that Chavo asked him :
"By the way, is Mr. Koshinaka in good health ? "
I was so grateful to hear that. Chavo still remember my name in spite of that
I was just a little nappy headed boy when we wrestled each other. It really moved me !
Until today, I have faced tons of foreign wrestlers and
Chavo definitely was one of the most memorable fighters to me.
I wouldn't use "jumping hip attack" if not for him.
And ... I even wouldn't be here right now, if not for him.

I throughly enjoyed seeing this tribute to a very great legend, Chavo Guerrero Sr.
We have had a working relationship and a friendship for almost twenty years.
I find this site honorable, respectful and definitely a deserving tribute to this wrestler,
his life and his career. I will look forward to new additions and any updates that are
put on the Chavo Guerrero site. Sincerely,
( Guestbook on May 8th, 2002 )

Chavo is not only a great wrestler. He is also a very dear and generous friend.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Chavo for many years, and I am proud to say
that he was a big part of me getting in this crazy world of professional wrestling.
I have learned from his success as well as by his mistakes.
I wish Chavo the best of luck and pray that he continues with success in this business.
God bless you my friend.

It was an honor and pleasure wrestling against Chavo Guerrero Sr.
In his age and infinite wisdom, Chavo is a fountain of knowledge
and after the good Lucha match that we had, he was a true gentleman
and hung out with us and talked about the old Southwest days
and I also commented him on a real good website that he had.
Congrats on a fine website.
