 CHAVO GUERRERO Sr.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. Talks About His Father

My father was my idol growing up. Everything he did, I also wanted to do.

I wanted to walk like him, talk like him, do everything he did. (1998)

My dad is one of my best friends. I love the fact that I'm now following in his footsteps ;

it's something that I've always dreamed of. In fact, Eddy and I both have dreamed of that.

I'm so happy this is what I'm doing. (1998)

Some of my fondest childhood memories are water skiing and camping with my dad.

Just being together with my dad those times, well, that's a great memory I now really cherish. (1998)

I wish we could be a tag team someday, that's a dream of mine. Another dream of mine is

to have all of the Guerreros in the ring at the same time. I would love to have that. (1998)

At age 6, I asked my father for a pair of wrestling trunks, a championship belt and, of course,

wrestling boots. He delivered them and I still cherish my tiny red boots, which say "CH G."

They were too big when I first got them, but I eventually grew into them.

They are a great memory of my father and my childhood. (1998)

For our family, the wrestling is in our blood and we love it so much. My father said,

"If you want to do it, I'd rather you go to college and become a doctor or something ...

but if you want to do it, you can." I know how much he loved the business and he never

denied me of that and I'm so glad that he helped me out and steered me in the right direction

to become a wrestler because I love it. It's not just a job for me.

To me, this is my life and my father was actually my role model to look up to. (2000)

I grew up out in Los Angeles, and my dad was basically the man for that organization, the WWA .

He was the Americas Champion, that was the main champion, and he wrestled all comers.

He and Roddy Piper had a big feud. One year, he wrestled for the AWA World title against

Nick Bockwinkel, the WWE World title against Superstar Billy Graham, and then wrestled for

the NWA World title against Terry Funk . And he went the time limit in all three.

For years, I remember running around that Olympic. I know it like the back of my hand.

He dominated that area for five years, which back then was a long time to be in one territory.

Then my father left, that's when it went down. Not that it went down because he left,

I've just saying that he maybe got out at the right time. (2004)
